Social warfare between superiority and inferiority

Right, the infamous struggle for power. However, do you realize that we all start from the same place before we arrive at either of those two levels? That place is what I'd call being normal. To put it simply, we all belong to the same level till some of us climb up the social ladder while some others get shoved down the garbage chute. Whenever someone rises, another's bound to fall. I guess we're all living in a world with some sort of social balance. But, the one thing I can't bring myself to comprehend is the fact why there has to be such a clear line drawn in between. So, let's break it down further and look at it.

First, treatment. If you've been paying attention to people who are, in one way or another, superior, they always get the respect while those who are inferior, get the dirt. If you pit those two in a trial, the superior being would emerge victorious 99% of the time. Why's that? It's because people always think those higher up are always right, even when it's downright obvious that they've made a stupid decision. So, no matter how right the inferior is, they're always wrong. Kinda ironic, eh? Here's the factor -- power. Just because that person has power, they are superior. Right, all I see is two very similar people living in the same environment as we are, breathing the same air, eating the same food, so why are they receiving such different treatments? Is power so great that it gives you the ability to feed on the weak? Does power give you the right to have things as and how you like it, without giving a damn to the majority? Does power give you the ability to rise to a whole new level? No, no and no. Face the fact, we still belong on the same plane even with power. You're not going anywhere. Now, if we all just return to being normal, nobody has to get hurt. You can have power but just don't think you're superior. Wouldn't that save a lot of hassle? Think about the percentage of crimes out there that originated from unfair treatment, the people who fail to see light in their life because they were neglected. What good is there being superior when you have to sacrifice so much?

Next, wealth. *Scoffs*, the root of all evil and people think they're that high up just because they're loaded. Here's what I'd like to say, "You brainless SOB, you're raising a devil!" But no, they're too stuck up to even hear us. Oh, and wealth's even worse than power cause wealth gives you power. So, it's like a package. Now, back on track, loaded people think they own everything cause apparently, money buys you everything. Well, I'd so love to meet the smart guy who made that up and let him know money makes you lose things that you can't buy. Since the rich is misguided by that thought, they often tread all over the poor like bugs that are so small to even notice. Say, they find an orphanage that they think is useless in its present state but sees potential in it for something more profitable so they buy it down and turn it into something that would benefit them. Hmm, that sounds about right until you inadvertently drive out the orphans that are inhabiting it. Even if a resistance is put up, the rich wouldn't pay much attention for they'd just pay more to get someone to settle it. In what way did having loads of cash tucked away in your safe promote you to another level? None. I don't see you living with the sentient beings, I don't see you living on Moon, I don't see you anywhere else but here with us. Admit it, we're all equal and no amount of cash is going to take you away. Now, let's dull the line a little and return to normal. We could all get a clearer view of the situation and maybe, even reduce poverty. This could all be possible if we just stayed where we are.

So, because of these two factors -- power and wealth -- the line is drawn between the strong and the weak. Is it really worth it when the consequences are all shrouded in darkness? I'd think not. Then why are people constantly trying to claw their way to the top? If our world's a balance then maybe staying where we are is the best option. I don't see anything wrong with being normal so why fight that? If only people could hold on to their power and not abuse it, we'd be much better off.

I'm not here as a preaching humanitarian nor am I here to condemn the people I've mentioned. As a sidenote, those I've stated are usually the obnoxious, egoistic black sheeps of the flock in a group. I've met some people with power or wealth but they are nothing like those I've said. Instead, they're the direct opposite. Here's an example:

The good:

The black sheeps:

It's a vague comparison but I think it fits well. I guess that's all I have to say now but keep in mind what has been said. Thanks for dropping by and I apologize for having you read that much. I'll see you soon then. Signing off~

Basel World Fair: Gone and back in a flash

So, I headed to the fair on Friday, and the first thing that hit me upon arriving was wow ,the fair is just "super-duper-uber-what-the-woo-hoo" amazing! Think of it as the Oscars but swap celebs with the working class. The red carpet still applies though. It really is a must see, at least once a lifetime.

Here's the layout. The fair is held in separate buildings, which are called "Halls". So, the company I worked for had it's booth located in Hall 1. Oh, and by booth, I don't mean those hot dog stands. These booths are actually 3 storied buildings! Now, to get a picture of how big the hall is, imagine over 20 of these booths stuffed into it. Get the picture? Yeah...*gasps*.

Since our booth's located in Hall 1, that's the hall where I spent most of my time at. It mainly consists of major watch brands such as Omega, Chanel, Maurice Lacroix, Rolex, Swatch and of course, Porsche Design/Eterna which I worked for. Well, there are more but seriously, I don't think I want to name them all. If you've seen the number of brands at the fair, you'd be swept away too.

About our booth, I'd say it's simple yet modern and classy. It's hard to describe the looks but here's a word -- symmetrical. I'd love to share some pictures but, well, I forgot to bring a camera along. My bad. There were some booths that are bigger than the others, like the Rolex booth for example, which was like 2-in-1. Too rich? Or do they just prefer the siamese twins concept?

Oh, and on that day, the company was having a distributors' event so what does it spell? P-A-R-T-Y! There was champagne, finger foods and this very unique corner called the "Molecular Kitchen". This "kitchen" is really special. All it serves is flower petals coated with chocolate and mango jello. Went ahead and gave it a shot and hmmm, it's one of a kind. However, my words hold no credit since I'm not one who lives to eat. So, throughout the event, I had myself half a glass of champagne and coversed with my colleagues. All in all, it was one hell of a night.

I guess that's all I have since I was only there for a day and a half. Went Friday, returned Saturday. It was really fun just being able to be there even without the event. If fate allows for a second time there, I'm all for it. So, I'll see if I can get some snapshots from the photographer at the event and maybe upload it here but for now, it's time to sign off again. Bye!
