Halt animal cruelty

It's been quite a while, or some while, since I took a break from blogging but fear not for I have some crucial announcement to share with all you bloggers out there.

Just recently, I came across an article that made me reconsider if I should ever visit a circus again. Most circus-goers would have thought of how the performers even tamed those animals into performing tricks and stunts that puts the crowd into a cheering frenzy. Well, here's the answer -- animal abuse. Just whack and kick them silly and they'll be at your every beck and call.

Here's a video as proof:

Imagine yourself as the poor elephant for a minute. Would you rather be shackled up in a barn with a random kick from someone every now and then or choose to roam the wild savannah at your own free will? I supposed the majority would pick the latter.

If that isn't enough to get you to help, here's more. Animals have their own psyches too. Imagine the consequences when they're stressed out or forced to adapt to their surroundings. The elephant, for example, is "a majestic, wild, large mammal," as said by Jorja Fox, that wanders in the open. Now, try stuffing it in a barn all day and abusing it. How'd it feel? I'm guessing frustrated. What would a frustrated elephant do then? Go haywire and then on a rampage. Would you like that? Hell, no!

Well, then here's what I propose.

Animal abuse at circuses has long been an urban legend of sorts that has been ignored by many but now, when it's out in the open, we can't deny the truth any further. To find out more or if you're in a position to help, you are very much welcome to visit Animal Defenders International to show your support and to stop animal cruelty, even if it's a little at a time. Every life saved is a step forward.
